Fred and the New JBs will be among an impressive lineup of jazz and funk luminaries this weekend at the
Richmond Jazz Festival. They play at 3:30pm Sunday on the Dominion Stage. Other artists include Dianne Reeves, Cassandra Wilson, Christian McBride, Cameo and many more.
Next up is the
event at the Hollywood Bowl, where
Christian is music director and Fred is among the James Brown alumni featured.
Just past is the intense and intensely funky New JBs Europe tour that finished at the wonderful
Opus Pocus Muzik Festival in the farthest flung department of France,
La Reunion Island, a heavenly speck of land between Madagascar and Mauritius. Before flying home Tuesday he made a quick stop in Italy for
a guest appearance with Italian funksters Sex FM.
