Fred was a special guest at the 33rd Annual Playboy Jazz Festival at Southern California's Hollywood Bowl as part of saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis' project Still Black, Still Proud: An African Tribute to James Brown. Also a featured guest was lovely San Francisco-based Ethiopian singer Meklit Hadero, pictured here with Pee Wee and Fred.
